What’s new at the Church of the Redeemer 

 

  

 

* On Sunday, January 22, 2012, Jenny James, Heath Hightower, and David Hedgepeth were elected to serve a three-year term on the Vestry of the Church of the Redeemer.  Other Vestry members are:  Joan Couch, Doug Davison, Dr. David Osafo, Greg Hennigan, Linda D. Griffin, and John Kyte.  Joan Couch was elected Sr. Warden, Greg Hennigan, Jr. Warden, and Linda D. Griffin, Clerk.

 

 

 

*At our 4th of July celebration this year, we honored our veterans.  From left to right, they are:  Fr. Jim Benbrook, Gene Thornton, Bob Price, Jack Humphries, and Doug Davison.  Hamburgers and trimmings were provided and we had lots of tasty side dishes, appetizers,  homemade ice cream and other desserts, and drinks.

Bishop's visit 8/28/2011 

 

*CONFIRMATION AT EPISCOPAL CHURCH OF THE REDEEMER

On August 28, 2011 the Rt. Rev. D. Bruce MacPherson, Bishop of the Western Diocese of Louisiana, preached and administered the Rite of Confirmation at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer.  Those confirmed at the 10:30 service were:  Ken and Dorothy Robbins, Teri Howe, and Doyle Alford.  Also pictured is the Rev. Jim Benbrook, Rector of the Church of the Redeemer, Bishop MacPherson, and Taylor Hogan who served as Bishop's Chaplain.
